Beyoncé added more estrogen to the room when she visited ‘The View’ on Thursday. The ladies asked the R&B star about everything from her hiatus to her husband before she graced the audience with a performance of ’1+1? and ‘Best Thing I Never Had.’

To reiterate what she said in her Essence cover story, Beyoncé talked about what pushed her to take a year-long break from the industry. “My mother was very, very persistent and kept telling me I had to take care of my mental health and get a chance to really enjoy life and everything that I’ve been able to accomplish, because it was starting to become kind of fuzzy,” she said. “I couldn’t even tell the difference between which day or which city I was in.”

Bey admitted to still working on her hiatus, but she also took time to take in cultures and really spend time in the cities she’s favored over the years. She also went on tour with hubby Jay-Z, and got to see things from the fan’s perspective again. “I’ve always been a Jay-Z groupie,” she insisted.

Later, Barbara Walters bluntly asked when the singer would be ready for babies, to which Beyonce calmly replied, “When it happens, it happens.” As for her music, Beyonce is staying true to herself. “My priorities have changed because I’ve accomplished so much and I just want to make music that makes people feel,” she added. “And I don’t want to be put in a box and labeled and it’s really exciting, this point in my life. I’m turning 30 and I feel like I know who I am and I’m not afraid to do whatever inspires me.”
