In a recent interview with Bossip, ‘Diva’ producer Bangladesh was questioned on whether Bey actually writes the songs she receives writing credits for. Check out the interview after the jump.
“I’ll put it like this: it doesn’t matter who is writing or producing the songs or producing the songs. Who is delivering them, is what matters. It doesn’t matter if Beyonce is there physically writing the song. I mean even if she’s not, it doesn’t mean that she can’t. It might be a case of her not having time or whatever.
People from the outside looking in want to know whether or not she writes her own songs, she’s on a level where things are handed to her…people want to be a part of what she’s doing. She either wrote it or can put her name on it….because that’s the boss she is.”
I want to salute Mr. Bangladesh for being so blunt and real about the topic. What Beyonce owns is a daily & fabolous discussion for her haters. People assume she doesn’t write her own songs but yet she was recognized as a songwriter during the run of Destiny’s Child in the 1990s and early to mid-2000s. She won the Pop Songwriter of the Year award at the 2001 American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Pop Music Awards (ASCAP), becoming the first African-American female and second female songwriter of ALL TIME to accomplish the feat …She was 19 at that time.
This is why Beyonce ignores the haters and I recommend for us stans to do the same. People talk but don’t know the facts, so like Bey once said “…Stop the track! Lemme state facts!”

I love Beyonce but what she is doing (with the song writing credit) is no different/better than what Elvis and other white artists did with black artists back in the day. It was wrong then and its wrong now! She wrote her songs back in DC's days and she was great…she need to make time to write more of her songs!
Good point but you missed the POINT …Elvis wan't a writer …Beyonce is …is it really necessary for her to write ALL of her songs? Since when did people care if Artist wrote they songs …oh yea ….when Beyonce took over ;-)
Do you honestly think Beyonce is the reason why people start caring about singers writing their own songs? People always cared when singers wrote their own songs-this is why Bob Dylan is so respected as an artist (even though he can't sing). Most people understand that when a singer invest time to write, it means they are sharing their heart and soul. Think about Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, and countless others. If Beyonce is not writing the song—she should NOT get credit for it. She should not say “I wrote this”. The only reason she didn't get credt for IIWAG because the real songwriter and her supporters exposed them (Knowles) before the song came out. Its cool that you are defending Beyonce but don't be blind to what is happening. Another thing…Elvis did write some songs but he also did alot of stealing too. Like I said…I love Beyonce (I am a fan) but this is wrong.

I don't think she doesn't write her songs,she just doesn't write all of them.And some of them were probably already written but she changed them around a little bit.And she never gives herself full credit,so I don't think she's like Elvis.She usually says how Angie helped her or Solange wrote it for her. And if she really didn't write her own songs wouldn't she get sued a lot..
I did not know that beyonce does it write her on songs.
