They say if you’ve got it, flaunt it, and Beyoncé Knowles definitely knows how to shake what her momma gave her.
She’s made millions doing it — $87-million a year, according to Forbes magazine’s recent calculation – and the woman who helped inspire and enhance the star’s considerable assets, her mother, remains at the center of it all.
“It’s been an amazing run,” the Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, said. The marathon that is her daughter’s career shows no sign of stopping any time soon.
Her famous daughter has collected a baker’s dozen Grammy Awards and this weekend is in Las Vegas to wrap up her North American “I am… Yours” tour with a quartet of intimate shows at Encore Theater.
“She’s really looking forward to the intimacy of this,” Knowles said. “It’s a different show from her ‘I am… (Yours)’ tour, completely different, … (and) she’s very excited about being able to do songs that she doesn’t get to do on the show regularly.” (more…)

Remember two weeks ago when Nia Long was quoted going after our girl Beyonce, well Pride Magazine is trying to cover it up and saying that her words were twisted:
In response to the media coverage around Pride Magazine’s Nia Long cover story, Pride Magazine would like to apologize for the fact that editing of the final article may have left Nia’s comments open to tabloid manipulation. As Europe’s premier publication for the woman of colour, Pride seek only to celebrate the achievements of celebrities such as Nia Long and Beyonce Knowles, and hope no offence has been caused through the media speculation.
Nonsense. We all know Nia meant it.

As long as Beyoncé is still Beyoncé the words “I don’t have anything to wear” will never touch her lips. Her superstardom has made her a fashion catcher’s mitt, high-end designers throw so many clothes at her. But, her mother and creator of their clothing lines Deréon and House of Deréon, Tina Knowles, remembers a time when the only thing designers threw her way was a snub.
“I’ll never forget when Beyoncé did her first red carpet for MTV,” says Knowles, who will make a guest appearance at the Encore Esplanade’s Fierce Fashion event Saturday. “I went into Versace and they said, ‘No, we can’t lend you anything, but you can buy one for $12,000.’ ”
More from the Encore Collection after the jump. (more…)
