Alexandra Burke: ‘I’m Like A New Beyonce’
Alexandra Burke, winner of the fifth series of UK TV talent show The X Factor, has compared herself to the renowned R&B lady Beyonce Knowles, saying they both have an alter ego onstage.
Burke revealed that like the multi-million selling Grammy winner, she too becomes a different person while performing.
Beyonce gets on stage and shes Sasha Fierce, then shes different off stage. Its just like me. I get on stage and I’m a different person to what I am off stage, the Sun quoted her as saying.
The 20-year-old Brit, whose prize was a recording contract, estimated at 1 million pounds, with Simon Cowell’’s Syco record label, further said that she was still struck with the former Destiny’s Child singer.
She added: It was my biggest dream to duet with this woman.
As of 15 December 2008, Burke became the current European record holder for single sales over a period of 24 hours, selling 105,000 copies of her debut single, “Hallelujahâ€, in one day. (ANI)
